High school girls’ volleyball wins conference championship

MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. — The Quantico Middle/High School girls’ volleyball team beat Foxcroft School of Middleburg, Virginia, in a home game to win the Delaney Athletic Conference championship match on Oct. 30. The victory capped off a winning regular season record of 17-3.

Homecoming for Quantico Middle/High School

Stephen had a Homecoming he won’t soon forget. The Quantico Middle/High School senior became football royalty at Butler Stadium on Friday night, Oct. 17, delivering a key touchdown on the field to spark the Warriors’ 19-7 win over Rappahannock High School while also scoring off it as the school’s Homecoming King.

Quantico sharks wrap up season, receive tips from Olympic gold medalist

The Quantico Sharks Swim Team, based in Stafford, held its annual awards banquet May 31. Along with welcoming new head coach Erik Collins to the team, the Quantico Sharks bid farewell to Stu Faux after 10 years as head coach.

Lady Warriors run home with a win 21-11

The Quantico Middle/High School Lady Warriors varsity softball team played against the Randolph-Macon Academy Yellow Jackets from Front Royal, at Field of Dreams on May 7, 2014. During the sixth inning the game ended due to the Mercy Rule. The Lady Warriors won 21-11, and proceeded to the semifinals the next day.

Holy Family Academy rallies, defeats Warriors

The Quantico Middle/High School Warrior baseball team played the Holy Family Academy Vendeens on April 9, 2014. The Warriors held back the Vendeens for the most of the game, but couldn’t stop a rally in the last inning, losing 10-11.

Unfouling the halyard

MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. — When halyard at the top of the flagpole in front of Lejeune Hall became fouled on Monday, the Quantico Fire Department was called in to assist, given that they are the only unit on base with a ladder tall enough to reach the top. Kevin Fines, of Facilities Maintenance, volunteered to climb the 100-foot ladder to repair the pole and gave a wave before heading back down.
